I love him

but I don't understand him. Worse, he doesn't get why I get annoyed with him.

Now that the snow is receding (well at least until tomorrow night) I have discovered the Christmas tree. The same tree Robby was suppose to take out back to the burn pile. I took the picture from my front porch, 20 feet away there is the tree still in the stand! So I called him on it... and he asked how do I know it's our tree? Seriously? I said nothing in fear of what might come out, but I know this because I doubt anyone sneaked through yard, stopped in the garage (where it should be) and dug out OUR stand and attached it to their Christmas tree before depositing it in OUR yard.

A rave

I have to rave about my Bissell sweep up. (I don't do pay to post, it's just my opinion like everything else here) We go through vacuums like most people go through toothbrushes. They just do not last at my house. I never gave much thought to a sweeper, if a vacuum can't keep up how would a sweeper right? However a couple weeks ago we were at Big Lots and Robby saw the sweeper and said "I want one". I looked at him twice to be sure it was actually MY husband who wanted a cleaning tool. I was shocked and speechless, I tossed it in the cart in dazed confusion.

I have to say- this thing is awesome! It picks up dog hair that I can vacuum over 100 times with no success. It picks up everything. I think it works better on the carpet than the floor but I wont complain. I wish I had one years ago. The best part? Robby actually uses it!!!!! The kids do too but they are by far way more helpful in the housekeeping department than he is.

Rylan got up from his nap and he was sitting on my lap and I said I love you. He jumped out off my lap and said wuv wowa (luv Lola) and hugged the dog. I guess I should be happy love is a new word. LOL

even more pictures

Robby and Saige went on the motion simulator ride, he was NOT happy he was not old enough to join. He probably would have loved it, Saige was okay but immediately told me to never let her do that again, lol.

Digging for fossils, I'm still finding sand.

I think this was Rylan's favorite, you could walk through it and hear it beating, I think he went through there 100 times- he keep taking off and going right back to it.

Saige was a bit freaked out by the sneezing nose, in fairness I told her to pick it and when she got close it sneezed and scared her. Rylan and daddy picked away. They are all boy

She is so smart
I can't even describe the play area, it is bigger than my house, and fun too. I think Robby was more excited about playing and going down the slide than Saige was. I wore socks this time so I could go too- I would love to play without a 100 kids underfoot, lol.

We treated them to Burger King afterwards, I do mean treat we don't do fast food.

Toothpicks

We took the kids to the MOST this weekend, and they had this toothpick 'city' The guy was there building it, you could watch. I was too busy checking out what was already done, it was amazing. I cut the card out in the first one, it's St Peter's, Vatican City. It was my favorite.

The do not call list is a crock

Here it is, not yet noon on a Saturday, I have already gotten a call informing me for time #896 that this is my LAST chance to lower my interest rates now. I would love to turn these people in but the second you ask for a name or a legitimate phone number they hang up on you. It's been months of this at least a few times a week. Can't help but wonder how many people actually fall for this and give over their CC#'s. I do hope that if there is a hell, that there is a special place for these people.

AND we just got yet another call from the NRA. I'm not sure what kind of idiots operate the phones over there but I have repeatedly asked to be taken off their call list. I asked again this morning, the lady said 'oh I am sorry, I wasn't aware you had asked to be removed, it takes 6- 8 weeks but you shouldn't hear from us again". Sweet, except they told me the same thing at least a dozen times back in Oct when I politely, and not so politely asked them to stop calling me. I thought we were good after the election, the vultures finally stopped but we got one a couple weeks ago and again today. Perhaps they do not know what DO NOT CALL me means.

The funny thing is the spiel went on about the awful Democrats and the stimulus plan and how it will all affect me. That I find funny, not that I am in any way in support of the stimulus but it's funny no one was bitching the first round where they basically took our money and gave it to the rich guys that drove the banks into the ground so they could go on vacations and get bonuses. This one is not much better, it no doubt will fund lots of welfare abuse and those who don't even work but at least it isn't all stealing from the poor to give to the rich.

Shouldn't these groups be included on the do not call list? They call soliciting donations, I am not sure how that is any different then the guy trying to sell me windows? He doesn't call anymore, but he was preferable. I don't give money to PETA, or the ASPCA or the NRA or any other whack job organization of the sort. Although I have to say at least the first two just stick to mailings, easy enough to burn. No waking the baby or listening to some BS for 10 minutes while I wait to ask again in vain not to be called.

I stumbled

on THIS post in Amnesty's blog list. I had to share, it's a subject near and dear to my heart, we know I love my pit bulls and hate stupid people.....

Finally

Today's the last day.... tomorrow starts vacation for Robby and Saige, Rylan and I are pretty much on vacation all the time, lol. Not a whole lot planned, Monday is our anniversary so we will probably go out to dinner but other than that a couple of day trips and working on the house is the extent of our big plans. I'll be happy to see any ONE, that's it just ONE completed project around here. There are already at least 87 started. I wont hold my breath but I am being optimistic at the possibility.

Saige's class had their Valentine's party today, the kids all had a lot of fun. I never remember the camera, every time I go I think next time I HAVE to remember, but no.....

The email

For Gov. Schwarzenegger's email here
Here is the page with the info on the attorney general on Medi-Cal abuse

I know I am not there but I wanted to ask him about the huge deficit and cutting hours for government workers and the MILLIONS of dollars Medicaid is being billed for the octuplets. If she can afford plastic surgery and repeated IVF treatments she should be paying her own medical bills. Not the tax payers, I want to see this woman charged with fraud.

I'll stop now, before I can't

The Czechs are on to something

Castration for sex offenders. I don't think they should ever be released into the public again, kill em all, but society doesn't seem to agree. So I'm all for it, I think the fact that it is mutilating, degrading and invasive IS the point.

rocky the hideous fish

As much as I hate fish, I feel bad for this guy.

Basically this guy has a gigantic nasty ugly fish that he has had for 10 years. The kind of fish is illegal in NY, but wasn't when he got the fish. He has been unable to find somewhere with a license to take it so they want him to kill it.

I say leave the poor guy alone, I will NEVER visit but let him keep his scary fish. I have seen it several times on the news and it gives me nightmares. Just the thought of it gives me chills and makes my stomach turn in ways I can not even describe, I really hate fish, but it's his pet. Having a pitbull, seeing ignorant people having them banned everywhere, it's a scary thought to see people just come in and ban kill your pets who have done no wrong.

and this kid too....

So much for my while one is bad the other will be good theory. I changed Rylan's diaper and he grabbed it to take it to the trash like he always does, instead he turned and nailed me in the side of the head with it.

What is with this kid?

I'm not sure what the appeal to toothpaste is other than it pisses me off. Over the weekend, Saige again slathered her brother in toothpaste while my back was turned (literally- I was RIGHT there) she is obviously getting braver at pushing my buttons. SO she spent a very boring weekend being punished.

Today in school a dentist (one of the moms) came in to talk to the kids about good dental care and handed out little goody bags. She came home and showed me her toothbrush, floss, a little treasure chest for lost teeth, and she quickly flashed a small tube of toothpaste. I could tell from across the room that it looked... deflated. Sure enough the little treasure chest was filled with bubble gum scented blue goo, it was all over her coat and her book bag. She KNOWS opening her book bag on the bus is a no-no. I'm writing a note to her teacher and ratting her out although I am sure she left tell take signs of blue goo on the bus seat. Maybe they will have better luck than I am. I told her next time she loses a trip to grammy's house. Grammy wont be happy but I bet watching he brother go and her being left bored at home WILL have an effect.

Progress Report

Saige brought home her 'report card'. They call them progress reports at the pre-k level and they are basically a big list of skills, social skills and a comment. I am very proud to report that she had ALL yes check marks and glowing comments about her being a good role model (phew... who knows where she gets it but I wont complain) and well behaved.

Lemonade award

I got a Lemonade Award from Eboni from A Common Street Peddler, which is filled with yummy sounding recipes ( we all know I can't cook, lol) and Ah, Art. She is super sweet, she called me nice and calm, lol.

I am suppose to pass this on but half of the blogs I read are already in the line up, so I will pass it to however would like to participate.

I don't know where she comes up with this stuff. I was showing my husband Mark's teeshirts and Saige saw this picture on his blog

and she points and says "Mommy mommy that guy looks like my Shaggy" You be the judge, here's Shaggy

she did what?

I think Saige has been possessed by a naughty bug. Or my children have swapped personalities, Rylan has been unusually good the past couple days.

I guess I am a bad mom, while I shower I leave the door open leave the kids playing upstairs (where the shower is) I have a tiny little house so they are never far, it is for the most part child proofed and plus I have a Saige who is more than happy to sound the alarm if the little guy is doing/touching/ looking at or breathing in the direction of something wrong.

Monday afternoon I took a shower, when I opened the curtain I was greeted by Rylan standing there, his head completely covered in white goo, almost a whole tube of diaper cream. I grabbed my towel while yelling 'what did you do??' At which point I saw Saige go flying into her room and hide. She gave it away.... he had help. I was afraid to go assess the rest of the damage but thankfully it was limited to his head and hair and he came straight to show me before rolling on my bed.

Saige said she was sorry and didn't mean it. How do you slather your brother in thick white cream, rub it in and NOT mean it?? So we talked about why it was a bad idea and she seemed sorry. For the record... diaper cream is NOT easily removed from hair. Lucky for him, maybe the cream helped prevent a nasty rash he should have had from me rubbing and wiping his head to get it off because you can't wash it out.. water makes it worse.

Now for the most part Saige is a great kid, well behaved, we skipped the terrible twos or so I thought. She has never really done anything like that. She did write on my white 1000 TC sheets with a black sharpie once, but she was 2.

Yesterday we had dinner and she announced she was off to brush her teeth, I thought nothing of it. I brush them before bed to be sure it's done well but let her do it during the day if she wishes, she is going on 5 so she's been using the bathroom alone for a very long time now. Rylan went in with her while I loaded the dishwasher. He likes to stand on the steps in front of the sink and pretend to spit. Harmless, or so I thought. I clean up the kitchen and here comes Rylan..... his head slathered in green slimy watermelon scented goo this time. She dumped a whole thing of Colgate kids 2 in 1 toothpaste. Some on his head, some rubbed all over the mirror and medicine cabinet and the rest along with a second tube of toothpaste in and all over the sink and floor.

Needless to say I was pissed. This is something you expect from a baby or toddler, not a normally well behaved little girl. She spent most of the rest of the evening in her room and lost a couple days worth of privileges. I was so mad I took away privileges she probably wasn't going to have in the first place, lol. I have no idea what has gotten into her but I want my little girl back.

I'm almost afraid it's a influence from school. The little girl she calls her 'best friend' is a bit of a demon, in cute way but a demon none the less. She is a handful, and seems to be involved with every reprimand Saige has gotten at school. In her defense (I swear I'm not delusional... this comes from the teacher) Saige tends to get herself in trouble trying to make the other girl do what she should be doing. But in telling the other girl she needs to come sit down/line up/ stop talking... she isn't doing it herself. Every time I see them together I get these glimpses of the future. The two of them as teenagers, and it's scary, lol.

It was public library day today. It was actually pretty nice out, in the 30's and the wind wasn't bad. The sidewalks however were not as nice as the air. Most people don't seem to bother to clean their section at all and the rest was just plain icy. Lots of short people slipping and falling, no major injury's, thankfully. There was also a lot of saying... no ____ don't eat the dirty snow. Umm not sure why anyone, even short people would want to eat dirty snow but it seemed pretty popular, lol. Not my kid, but of course I was holding her hand, makes me wonder if she would have joined in because her friends were if I wasn't there. The highlight of the trip was a pair of nasty panties in the middle of the sidewalk, in the middle of town. How does one lose their panties in the middle of town, in the middle of winter? I don't want to know. The little boy Saige and I were walking with goes "Gee she must have been cold being naked out here in the snow, my mom would yell at me" I just smiled and nodded.
