I have good intentions of posting Christmas pictures, but my computer wont let me do anything. It was fine, in fact it was perfect. I have been very pleased with Robby and I having our own computers- he isn't fooling around and screwing mine up. Or, at least he wasn't until Christmas. I got him a new mp3 player- he spent a large portion of the day playing with it ( you know the day that was suppose to be about family and the kids- he spent playing with his toy :) For whatever reason he decided to hook it up to MY comp and fool around to figure it out. Suddenly ALL my pictures disappeared, and I can only go to three websites, and I can't do anything from there. UGH Of course after destroying mine he moved on to his own (which is in still in working order) AFTER he figured out what he was doing.
So no pictures now, in fact my camera got lost in the mess of paper and gifts more than once so I don't really have a lot of pictures anyway. Everyone one of of was spoiled this year. My mom got Robby and I recliners, yup two, we have been planning to buy one with our taxes this year. Now we don't have to and we have two so no fighting over who gets to sit in it. They are so comfortable- we've been doing a lot of sitting, lol.
Saige got more toys than any 10 kids need :) I guess that is to be expected, I was guilty of going overboard on her as well. She is just so easy to buy for- she loves everything. I think the fur real cat my mom got her is probably her favorite. She carried it around with her and made it "watch" her open all the rest of her presents. She kept telling me how much she loves her "NICE" kitty and that snowball would teach our kitty to be nice too. Imagine our surprise when we discovered that it was on demo mode and when we turned it on the damn thing hisses and growls like a real cat too! For the record I think Boo (the evil, real cat) is too busy hating it to learn how to be nice, lol.
Rylan didn't get much but he's given us more than we could ask for this week. He's slept all week long- all night long. It is sooooo nice to sleep, I forgot how good it feels to wake up after a solid 7-8 hrs (for me, he's been sleeping for 12!). In fact Christmas eve my parents asked what time to come watch the kids open their presents and I said 7:30- they declined said they have been working hard and wanted to sleep in. The phone rang at 7:30- they changed their minds and ALL of us were still sleeping, we came that close to getting to sleep in, lol.
I'm always sad when Christmas is over- I spend months getting ready and planning, and bam it's over just like that. I think the anticipation is better than anything. Christmas eve is better than Christmas, is more magical, the kids go to sleep excited for santa, for Christmas morning. By Christmas night it's done and there is one hell of a mess! It's taken me four days to get some sort of order back in this tiny house, and I'm still not done. Only 361 days til we do it all again.
On a not so nice note- whoever came up with the idea that all toys need to be packaged with 8000 little twisty things that all have to be undone before you can get to the toy, should be shot! Seriously is there not a better way? Have they never had to open one themselves while their three year old stood by asking repeatedly "can I play with it now, can I play with it now? now? now? Someone suggested I open them all before wrapping them so she can just open them up and play. I guess that would work for me, but, I think if she could get at them all right away we'd be there all day. We still have to go to both our parents houses and I don't think we'd get her out the door. So instead I spent 4 hours undoing twisty thingies and trying to rip packages apart so the cardboard and the plastic parts can be recycled.
Pictures to come when and if I get my computer going again.

update
"Albany (WSYR-TV) - A federal court has ruled against the airline industry and upheld New York State’s passenger “bill of rights.” "
I think it's great but, I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. I hope to see a whole lot of other states doing the same. OK well at least Flordia- for my own selfish vacation from hell fears.

passenger's bill of rights
http://www.9wsyr.com/news/local/story.aspx?content_id=e4c61387-b981-4c43-ad4a-ed5d0ec12acf
I found this amusing, sadly amusing. It seems NY wants to enact a passengers bill of rights which basically means if you are trapped on a plane that's sitting on a runway, after 3 hours the airline must provide water, food, and clean restrooms. Sounds reasonable right? I thought so, I had no idea they can pull away after loading to sit for 10 hours straight without leaving the ground. I have to say I would be beyond unreasonable if I were trapped in that plane. No water. food, or clean bathrooms on top of it? That would set me over the edge. I'm sure I would be "helped" off the plane in the midst of my breakdown.
Apparently the airlines disagree, they don't think they should have to provide any of the above, saying it's a federal matter and the states basically can't do anything about it. I watched this on 20/20 last week and I just sat there thinking this stuff happens and people still fly? It's ridiculous to think they would fight NY on having to provide necessities when there is a lengthy on-board wait. Why isn't this a federal law? Isn't it imprisonment of some sort to keep people locked up on a packed flight that hasn't left in the 10 hours since they boarded? They wont let you off the plane either, unless of course you cause a scene and then your in big trouble. So the options would be to sit still smell the overflowing toilets listen to your stomach growling and wishing you could just have a cup of water or get arrested.
I have been seriously rethinking flying to our cruise next year, looks like a long drive with kids is in our future. I realize this isn't the norm but, that is not a chance I'm willing to take. At least in the car with two whining kids I can turn up the radio and guaranteed the kids will be mine, and no matter how much I yell I probably wont end up in jail.

Cookies
Saige and I finally got to get started on cookies. For the life of me I could not get red frosting, we went through the remaining red food coloring- it just kept getting pinker, lol.
By the time we got to the frosting she was down to her underwear. Why I didn't strip her down in the first place is beyond me.
This is Saige's favorite, it's huge, and I'm sure there is enough sugar in it to send a small person into shock.
I thought if I just made red and green it would be easier to work with and keep separate. It really was a nice thought but, she's 3 half way through the frosting turned grey. I suppose grey Christmas trees taste just as good as green ones :) Of course some are undercooked and some are practically burnt. I am so not a cook of any sort.
All in all it was a fun afternoon. Rylan still isn't 100% but it worked out well for us because he napped most of the time. Saturday, December 15, 2007
So tired...
Rylan was sick last night, he threw up again in his sleep. Poor little guy, I got him in the tub at 4 this morning. No sooner do I get him and his crib cleaned up and settled in my bed with me, almost back to sleep and Saige starts crying. She peed her bed- she never does that. When I went i to see why she was crying she kept telling me she was all sweaty. When she figured out she peed, she just cried harder. So I gave her a bath got them both settled in our bed. No luck, neither one wanted to go back to sleep so we were up for the day.
It's a bit strange but Rylan has been really happy, he is never this happy, he has to be sick. He is sleeping a lot more though, it's too bad he has to be sick to be willing to nap for more than 10 minutes. I'm hoping he will realize how nice it is too sleep and keep on doing it, lol. He was suppose to go with my mom for the afternoon so Saige and I could have a few hours alone and make Christmas cookies. I decided to keep him home since he isn't feeling well. I'm disappointed, I was really looking forward to a Saige and mommy day.

EEEEWWWWW
Warning- If you are easily grossed out, skip to the bottom.
Rylan and I were hanging out on the couch, he was acting hungry. I was pretty sure it wasn't time to eat again but made him a bottle anyway. He drank the whole thing down, so I assumed my mommy brain was just wrong on the last time he ate. He was in a good mood and I had him sitting up facing me on my knees and we were making faces. Sticking his tongue out is his newest "trick". All of a sudden he puked.... not a little baby spit up, I'm talking full fledged exorcist style vomiting all over me and my face.
It was in my hair, up my nose, in my mouth since I was talking to him when it came with no warning. It was all over the couch and the wall behind me. I am by no means a queasy person, it really takes a lot to make me sick. That did it. I started gagging as I was spitting out a mouth full of baby puke and sure enough I puked all over Rylan and myself. My stomach is still turning just reliving it.
So much for being caught up on laundry, I should have known that was just way too good to be true. I stripped us both down and threw everything into the washing machine (I'll definitely be running that load twice). I held Rylan and took him in the shower to rinse us off before I filled up the tub. Then I scrubbed the couch, wall and carpet. I'm still convinced I can smell it, I got it all, it just permeated my brain. The weird thing... in the last two hours he has been happier than I have ever seen him. Saige of course thought the whole ordeal was hilarious, twisted little girl. Me, I may never eat again.
On a another note, it was yet another long night. Saige's getting up for the day at 4 am finally caught up with her and she crashed at 4 yesterday afternoon. I tried waking her every half hour until 9 but she was out. At 11:30 pm she woke up, we let her stay in our bed. I hate sharing abed with her, she didn't sleep all night. She kept screaming at us and poking us to wake up all night long. When she did settle down, Rylan woke up. He gets up several times a night, not always crying but loud. VERY loud. Saige turns to me and says "mommy that baby is awful noisy didn't you tell him it's the middle of the night?" I said yes, she responds "no you didn't mom- TELL HIM!" So I told him, it didn't work. It's now 4:30 and she is getting tired again, I have no idea how I'm going to keep her awake until bedtime :( So I'm sending her out to play in the snow, in the dark.

This irked me
Since I've started this blog I've had conflicting thoughts on what I should/shouldn't post. I've wondered if maybe I should start a second one for all the things that piss me off, lol. But, it's my blog so I can write whatever I want right?
I took Robby to the dr's 2 weeks ago when he hurt his back. Turned out he has a herniated disc and the doc sent him to physical therapy. He went once... and just didn't show for yesterdays appointment, and I doubt he will go tomorrow either. That pisses me off, what is the big deal about spending a half hour with someone who knows what they are talking about. He says it's dumb, and didn't help. HOW THE HELL could he possibly know that if he only went once and didn't follow through on what he was told to do? UGH
Anyway I got carried away. that wasn't what I was getting at, at the original doctors appointment, Robby, Rylan and I were sitting in the teeny tiny waiting room, waiting. This guy walks out to leave, he goes out the door, he opens the door back up nods at the baby and looks at Robby and tells him "Good Job".
I really don't know why that bothered me so much (or why it still does). Perhaps because Robby smiled and said thanks like he was solely responsible for the creation of our son. I didn't say anything at the moment, I was dumbfounded. Sure Robby helped a little, in fact very, very little in the grand scheme of things. I was the one who was pregnant for what seems like an eternity, I was the one gave birth. I am the one who hasn't gotten a good nights sleep in over a year (thanks to unborn Rylan kicking me and turning my bladder into his personal punching bag). I am the one who gets up in the middle of the night (or I was everytime until two nights ago when I had a mini breakdown, and when he woke up I went into the bathroom and cried like a baby myself- this was the night after I had the root canal, my face was swollen, I was in pain, and I spent the day watching Robby sleep on the couch. I didn't get a "how are you feeling?" Not, "can I help you in anyway?" Just "wake me up for work"). Basically I do 95% of all the work, you know the diapers, feedings, comforting and everything else.
Robby has a couple hrs in the morning. He lets me sleep in, or so he thinks. I just lay in bed listening, lol. He changes 1 diaper a day, in fact he refuses to use the cloth ones because if he did he might possibly have to do TWO whole diapers in one day. Most of the time he lays on the couch with both kids and they all go back to sleep. Well, to sleep after destroying the house and totally undoing all my hard work from the previous night. Who eats mayo for breakfast? and more importantly why are there strategic globs of it turning clear and gross all over the place at 9 am?
Now, I love my husband, I do really. I accept that he is the way he is, and other than pretending to be a complete idiot (um how do I feed the baby again? he's wet? really?) I am a SAHM so I kind of accept that picking up the house and the majority of the childcare is on me. I am okay with that. What I am not okay with is him thinking he deserves a medal for spending an hour and a half out of his day being the sole caregiver. I think he is completely clueless about what I do all day, he doesn't get why I need a break from it every now and then, after all it's always easy and my little angels (I'm choking on my coffee just typing it)are the perfect children all day long. What could possibly be rough about having a life that revolves around diapers, crying, and toast, laundry that multiples, and cleaning up (mostly after him)?
I've decided that the only way to get my point across is to give him a complete day alone with his kids. I have to wait, since right now he only has Sundays off it would be too easy for him to just take them to his moms and get someone else to do it all for him. So I'm biding my time waiting for his parents to say they wont be home next weekend. I will start my day feeding Saige ice cream , candy and mountain dew before I go. I will be sure that Rylan's diaper is beyond needing a change, so when he picks him up he will be covered in baby urine too, then he can change the baby, himself and attempt to clean what ever he was sitting/playing on before. I will be sure to stick around long enough to make sure he (Rylan) is way beyond needing a nap, I will continue to stimulate him long past tired so that he will then not take said nap and give Robby the endless overtired baby attitude I am so use to.
I will be sure to use up every clean dish in the house so he has to wash them while attempting to convince Rylan it's okay, you can eat soon. I will leave a shitty diaper laying on the floor, shitty side down, so when he steps in it and squishes it into all the cracks I can say... "Oh I forgot it was there" and watch as he attempts to clean it. Or maybe the other way so I can laugh when he steps on it and it squishes between his toes. Then I can continue to laugh while he hops one footed to the bathroom to puke and clean up, while trying not to make a bigger mess to clean off the floor.
I will be sure to leave the milk out on the counter for hours and hours so when Saige wants some, he can listen to her whine while pouring the putrid leftovers down the drain while telling her he is sorry and trying to convince her that water is all there is. I will give Saige a Sharpie and proceed to allow her to write all over his stuff, like his glasses (not that he has any, lol) while I stand by and watch, not saying a word. On my way out the door, I will ignore the dogs begging to go out, and walk right past the overflowing garbage can pretending not to see it, and certainly not noticing that the coffee grounds I dumped out landed on the floor, not in that invisable overflowing trash can.
Now if only the opportunity would arise... (insert creepy hideous laugh here)... Okay I will never do any of the above, mostly because I know I would return to everything I described but way, way, way, worse. It sure did feel good to type it all though, lol. After all it's my blog so I can bitch about what I want :) Maybe I'll accidentally leave it up on the screen and he will read it (doubtful) and take a hint!

Sore
I had my first of two root canals this morning, my jaw is so sore, lol. Regardless of having to sit with my mouth open further than it is meant to be opened for an hour straight, I didn't want to leave. It was like a spa, or at least how I imagine a day at the spa would be, lol. They were all so nice it was hard to hate them all for making me get up so early it was still dark. There were no crying children, no snoring husband. They kept asking me if I wanted anything, a magazine, a blanket, did I want to change the channel on the T.V.? When it was over with they gave me a warm towel to clean up with, it was so.... peaceful. My only complaint is them asking me questions when they have my jaw pried open and I can't talk. Was I suppose to answer? I just kept nodding. How sad is it that I am looking forward to getting the second one done Thursday morning?

Quiet
I'm all alone, Robby took the kids to the mall. I didn't even have to ask, I assumed he was going to go alone and when I got up he had the kids all bundled up (kinda) and ready to go with him!!! I love him! Of course I had to get Rylan back out of his car seat and dress him, a thin pair of pajamas just doesn't cut it when it's 20 degrees out. But, it's the thought that counts. So here I am, guaranteed the next few hours all alone and quiet. I don't know what to do with myself...
With the exception of dr's appointments I haven't had any time away from Rylan since he was born.... it's long overdue. I love my kids dearly but sometimes I wish I worked just for the quiet I would have on the drive to and from. Is that horrible? I love being a sahm most of the time, sometimes I just need a break.
Common sense says I should be in bed sleeping while I have the chance, yet here I am on the computer, lol. I would be sleeping but they woke me up. More specifically Robby's laughing woke me up. I thought I was missing something... I was, Sponge Bob. This is a guy who doesn't even chuckle at old reruns of Seinfeld or (my fav) That 70's show, in fact he doesn't chuckle at most adult TV. But, turn on Sponge Bob and he laughs hysterically through the whole thing. He truly is a giant child in a mans body.
At the Endontist the other day his assistant asked me how old my kids were, I said 5 months, 3 yrs, and almost 30. She looked at me strange for a minute and said damn you look good!!!!! I had to explain I married the old one, I didn't give birth to him.
The Christmas spirit seems to be missing this year... I know it's only days away I'm just not feeling it yet, maybe because we don't have a tree yet. Yesterday Saige and I decorated the house and made some decorations, I thought that would help but nope. Maybe it will kick in when we make cookies tomorrow, lol. If not at least the Christmas weight should be off to a good start, lol.
Saige and I made 3-D snowflakes... they were surprisingly easy and they look neat too. Sometime during making them I must have turned my back for a minute, as I was cleaning up the paper all over the floor I found a huge pile of hair. Since having the baby, it seems I lose an unreal amount of hair, but nothing like this. I had been laying on the floor earlier with the baby and I thought it was mine. So I start picking it up in a panic that I am going bald. Saige suddenly starting crying out of the blue and ran up the stairs. 'Nough said... she cut her hair (we have the same color and length) First I was relieved I wasn't going to be bald by the end of the week and then I thought OH NO. So I flew up the stairs after her to check out the damage. I couldn't really tell- she has SO much hair it's barely noticeable. It took 5 minutes for her to stop crying and understand I wasn't mad. I think every kid has to do this at least once a lifetime. The more I laughed, the harder she cried. So I dragged her to the mirror and showed her she still had hair and she sobbed "I'm so sorry mommy I wont ever cut my hair again" I said thats good, then she added... "I'll just cut Rylan's when he gets some" So I have to remember that of my bald little bot EVER gets hair- I must hide the scissors.
I must go make some good use of my alone time.. I'm thinking a long hot bath with lots of bubbles, I can't remember the last time I got one of them without a short person throwing any and every toy in there with me.
5 months
Rylan is 5 months old today! Dekan (my old dog) is 14 today! Not all too much new with Rylan, he has really gained a lot of control over his hands the past month and now can pretty much reach and grab whatever he wants the first try. Last night he slept the whole night for the first time in what seems like forever. Of course Saige was sick so SHE was up all night, I just can't win, lol.He loves the jumper, he is happiest bouncing. I'm just glad I found something to occupy him for a few minutes to give me a chance to do things like go to the bathroom and cook dinner. Not that I didn't do any of it before... he just screamed the whole time. He still doesn't have any hair, it looks like it in pictures but it doesn't seem to be doing anything but getting darker, not growing. How long does it take? Saige had a head full of it at birth, I'm starting to wonder if he will ever have any. He looks just like his daddy, and he is a daddy's boy!
Saige insisted I post a picture of her too. She has a bellyache and has been sleeping just about all day. It's going to be another fun night! Saturday, December 1, 2007
IT'S HERE
It's official- our first snow. We have had some dusting but this morning I woke up to 3 inches. Of course it drifts across the driveway and there is like a foot there... The plow guy has already taken out he mailboxes, this happened almost daily at our old house. Then it was not a big deal, we just lifted it back up and it was good until the next day. Here our mailbox is attached to four others and lots of heavy wood (although there is only one house across the street). It's going to be staying on the ground, I cant lift them back up- far to heavy for me.
It's been one hell of a week. Last Wed conveniently coinciding with the Holiday weekend I got the worst toothache. The dentist was closed until Mon, so I suffered for days. Turns out I need FOUR root canals- fun. Not to mention thousands of dollars. I come home from the endodontist to find Robby laying on the back porch, he threw out his back. He stayed home from work Thurs and went back yesterday. That lasted all of an hour he had to leave, so we took him to the dr who took him out for a week, less than a month before Christmas :( Unfortunatly he can't stay home for a week despite a dr's excuse, his job sucks. He has to find one way or another to be back on Tues if he wants to keep his job.... REALLY UNFAIR. So he is parked on the couch with several prescriptions including some narcotics (they make him quite humorous).
The plow isn't on the 4wheeler and I have no idea how to put it on, so I guess we are stuck here until RJ gets home tomorrow to do it for me. Not too bad I guess, assuming I don't kill him (Robby that is) before. Having him on vacation is great, he does stuff, having him injured laying on the couch whining while I wait on him..... well that's another, lol. Actually I shouldn't say that, he hasn't been too bad (and he is funny when he's all drugged up).
Rylan hasn't been sleeping- AT ALL he naps for about 15 mins tops maybe 2-3 time a day and he is up every hour all night. I don't know how n much more I can take- I need a good nights sleep. I knew having another baby it meant getting up in the night (Saige was and is a perfect sleeper from the start), I never imagined I would be getting up 6-7 times a night five months later. I feel like a zombie. I have even tried bringing him into our bed (something I am adamantly against- nothing against others who co-sleep- it just isn't for me. I don't sleep with little legs kicking me and I spend the whole night worried Robby is going to crush him) it doesn't help, he still doesn't sleep. I'm getting ready to pay someone to drive us around for 8 hrs so we can both get some much needed sleep.

I take it all back... and my husband thinks I'm an idiot
I take back my post about being sad that Rylan was sleeping through the night- I take it all back!!! The past week and a half he has refused to sleep, he only naps for 20 minutes at a time and gets up 3-4 times a night. I need sleep, I miss sleep.
I have always had problems falling asleep, I lay there for hours and it just doesn't happen. Two nights ago was a rare night, Robby and I were in bed watching TV and I was fell asleep, he was wide awake, watching TV. Rylan wakes up crying. I'm was sleeping and after a minute of crying Robby shakes me and says "Are you going to get him?" UMMM HELLO I WAS SLEEPING!!!!!!!!!! I say no your up, you can get him he's probably hungry, feed him. I try to go back to sleep. He starts asking me the stupidest questions;
Robby- How do I feed him?
me- the same way you do any other time
Robby- Where are the bottles?
me- the same place they have been since he was born 4 months ago.
Robby- where should I feed him
me- (beyond pissed at this time) Anywhere you damn well please
Robby- opens his mouth to ask something else
me- (yelling now) Do you think I'm a fucking idiot? (yes I swear when I'm mad, sometime even when I'm not- bad mom) Do you think that no matter how stupid you pretend to be I'm going to get up and do it? I WAS SLEEPING you were not. (we have a deal, I get up in the middle of the night he gets up in the mornings, I didn't realize I had to add that if I was sleeping at 11:30 pm and he wasn't it was all him)
Robby- not even bothering to deny that is what he is doing "OH" and BAM suddenly he is capable of feeding the baby once again.
Too late, it took me hours to get back to sleep. I love him to death but there are moments I could choke him. Five and a half years ad he still doesn't know where we keep the laundry basket.

Rolling and FOOD
Rylan has figured out how to roll from his stomach to his back, now he can go both ways!!!! He doesn't go very far yet, but it's coming. He scoots on his back a lot, I will put him on the floor and 5 minutes later he is a foot or two from where he started. He looks more like his dad everyday, they are identical when they are sleeping :)At his four month check-up the dr gave us the go ahead to start cereal. With Saige we waited another month but, I thought he was ready. For weeks he's been watching us eat while "chewing" and yelling. He was, he pretty much had it down at the first spoonful, lol. I had a video but the majority of it is Saige's hand. She kept standing in front of the camera and running around really quickly trying to glimpse herself on the led screen. Then she got it, she was only on it when she was in front. The rest of the video is her watching the screen and waving her hand in front of it telling me her hand was on t.v.
The dr suggested we introduce vegetables at 5 months, Last night I found an old jar of peas in the cupboard that expire tomorrow. I broke them out, we really don't have an family history of any food allergies so I'm not too worried on that end. HE LOVED THEM!! He couldn't get enough, I stopped after a few spoonfuls just in case. All seemed well and he polished of the jar tonight with lots of enthusiasm. I figured I might as well get a veggie or two in him before my mother starts sneaking him ice cream and applesauce. I found out much after the fact she was feeding Saige peanut butter months before I even considered it... HINT HINT if you are reading mom.
The bumbo...

Not the best picture but I love the face!
I finally got a Bumbo seat for Rylan. What an ordeal... this was the 5th one I was bidding on, on Ebay. I didn't lose the others, they were all pulled like 10 minutes from the end for listing violations. I'm guessing they didn't have the idiot stickers... I really didn't care, I know enough not to leave my kid unattended on the counter in it and walk away. One would assume that it is common sense (although I did remind Robby just in case). These kind of recalls kill me, some parent made a bad call and their child was hurt, it's sad but come, do you really need a sticker to tell you something that simple, something you SHOULD already know? I think if that's the case there must be bigger issues and perhaps they should have waited to grow some brains before breeding in the first place.... Okay sorry for the rant. Anyway three days later I finally won one and it came Monday.
He doesn't really like it, it's okay for the first 30 seconds but he would rather lay on the floor or sit in the walker. I know, I know walkers are dangerous... again I use some common sense, in other words I try not to make a habit of setting him in it at the top of the stairs, lol. He can't reach the ground in it, but he likes the toys and kicking at nothing. I doubt he will even use it more than a few more weeks- he is on his way to being mobile. Man, that went by fast.

4 months

Rylan turned 4 months on Tues, I can't believe how fast it's gone. He had his checkup yesterday, he is 14 lb 6 oz and 26 inches long! That is 4 inches longer than Saige was his age. He has gotten much better control of his hands and grabs at everything in reach- straight to his mouth. He still isn't rolling around, just two or three times here and there. He "talks" all the time, and he screeches loudly when he's happy. I have very loud children.

How to REALLY scare mommy
I have been cleaning and sorting through junk for two weeks now. The kids sure don't want to make it easy on me, lol. Today I put the baby down for a nap and I was hauling stuff back and forth from the basement, Saige was playing. I walked back into the room to see this.....
Don't worry, it's a doll, but it sure stopped me in my tracks. The doll is about the same size as Rylan, they wear the same size clothes. It took a few moments to register that the baby was indeed in his crib and not crushed on the dining room floor.
Rylan is fascinated with this thing, he "talks" to it, very cute. This isn't the first time it's freaked me out, the other day Robby had it sitting up with it's legs backwards, when I walked in the room I thought he was abusing our kid. In fact it's kinda creepy...

Halloween
We have been super busy, everyone took a turn at being sick last week and I have been doing some major cleaning. Thanks to free cycle, the salvation army and my garbage can, I think I'm making progress. Who knew we could fit so much STUFF in this tiny little house- good riddance
Anyway... I am the worst picture taker, I just can not get a good picture and the kids will only cooperate with my efforts for so long. Here's a poor picture of Rylan, he was a bear. He didn't care one way or the other, except his costume had hands to chew on,
Saige wanted a picture of her holding her brother in their costumes, but, they fell over before I got the chance.
Saige and her cousin Kayden, wishing I would hurry with the damn picture so they could go trick or treating., I love the face
Here is the best one of Saige, she was a lamb. The comments were about 50-50 on what a cute lamb and what a cute bunny she was. She had a blast trick or treating. She remembered to say "trick or treat" and "thank you" to everyone, even started throwing in "happy Halloween" after the thank you. Only 361 more days of hounding me until it's time to do it again, lol.
Finally here is a pic of the kids with my dad after trick or treating.

Saige's first pet
Saige got her very first furry pet today. Our favorite fat goldfish died Sunday and Robby and I discussed getting Saige "her" first pet of the four legged variety. I wanted to get her a rat, they are clean , smart, and friendly, they make terrific pets. Robby said a guinea pig... well I believe his exact words were how about a hamster like the wonder pets (which by the way is definatly a guinea pig- not a hamster). He came with the name Hairball but I told Saige she could name him anything she wanted, she said I want to name him House. So here is her rodent House.

This is big, for her to pick a name that is. Everything so far has been named exactly what it is, her blankie is blankie, piggy is piggy, dolls are all named dolly, even the fish are named fishies. So I was thrilled to call him anything other than guinea pig. He likes to be petted and she happily did so ALL day long.
I figure I might as well add the rest of zoo: here's Nala, she reminds me of Lenny from Of Mice and Men... she is sweet as can be but she is big, and well, she's pretty dumb too, but we love her anyway.

This is Dekan, he's my first baby, I got when I was 13, he was so tiny and now he's so old he just lays around all day. Despite the funky looking eyes- they are not evil.
This is Boo aka: Satan with fur. I think she may be the worlds smallest cat but despite being tiny she is throughly evil. Enough said.

Mom? Can you hear me? Mom?
Growing up I remember trying to get my mothers attention while she was doing something else. Repeating mom? mom? mom? until she finally turned from the tv to scream WHAT? I'm starting to understand that. Saige is a marathon talker, in fact from the moment she wakes up until she is asleep again her mouth is going non-stop. Now, I try to answer her as much as possible and pay attention to her but lets face it, I just don't have the time in the day to listen to EVERYTHING.
She will repeat herself over and over- even after I have answered. For example if she asks for ice cream and I say no, she will continue to ask for ice cream over and over. This works with dad- not me, she hasn't figured that out yet and still continues to ask over and over. Although even if I say yes that doesn't guarantee the repeated questions are going to end, and if they do she just moves on to a new ?. I'm ready to invest in some high quality earplugs. So I ignore her after the first time and finally I get mom? can you hear me? Of course I can hear you- did you not hear me say NO? I'm at a loss on how to deal with this short of continuing to ignore until I get so annoyed that I scream WHAT or NO or whatever else is applicable to the situation. I think it's her master plan to give mommy a nervous breakdown.
I have developed a couple plans- no solutions but some temporary silence. #1 I lock myself in the bathroom and turn on the tub so the water is all I can hear for a couple mins (of course this only works when the baby is napping) #2 when I get lucky and Robby is outside working on something or another, I simply say hey I think daddy needs your help! (this is my favorite but Robby is gone 8 hours out of her day). #3 Pennies. Yup pennies, she loves to put money in her piggy bank so I give her ONE penny at a time so she has to go up the stairs to her room to the piggy bank and I get approx. 3 seconds of quiet. This I thought was ingenious however we are running out of piggy banks, she has four full ones and I have to wait until she is gone to remove the pennies to start over. I can't take all the pennies, she would notice so I take a few at a time (note to self- buy yet another piggy bank). I think the lady at the store thinks I'm insane when I ask for rolls of pennies every time I go in. #4 (this one doesn't work so well in 4 feet of snow, though) I have her do yard "work" or races, this means I have her go to the farthest length of the yard either to find sticks, bugs, leaves, or whatever and bring them back... then race back as fast as she can to find another.
That's it, I am not a creative person and it's the best I can come up with. So if anyone reads this, and, has any ideas to help my sanity, by all means please share. LOL Now I must go, in the two minute sit took to type all this she has been in the bathroom saying "mom don't come in here" over and over. Now it's mom, mom, mom, ( I don't even get to open my mouth to answer) can I stay in here? Strange child- the bathroom is MY hideout.

3 months

Rylan is 3 months old today, I can't believe how fast it's gone by. The top pictures are him today and the bottom ones are Saige at 3 months.
He's been rolling all day long and grabbing for his toys , he is actually getting them and pulling them to his mouth now.
Saige's new habit is "whatever". It is her response to everything, I am not sure where that one came from.
me: Saige are you hungry?
Saige: (sigh) Whatever I want peanut butter and jelly.
me: Saige stop torturing the dogs.. they do not want to be princesses
Saige: Whatever, I don't want to.
me: Saige do you know what whatever means?
Saige: Whatever, it means I want to go to the park, oh and it means you should give me cookies.

odds and ends
I took Saige to the doctors today, she has been complaining that her throat hurts- but only at night, other than that she's been fine. I kept blowing her off because she only complained when she was tired and cranky. The dr says it's allergies (I have so many, I don't know why it never occurred to me before) and gave her Claritin. Now, I have a strange child, she will beg for medicine, I have never battled her in that dept. and have a rougher time trying to convince her that she can NOT have as much as she wants. Sure enough I gave her her first dose and put her to bed and she came back down twice fake coughing telling me she is so so sick and needs more medicine, lol. Rylan keeps rolling, he's only made it all the way (got his arm out) two or three times but he's close to being mobile. When he's on the floor or in his crib he spins in circles and turns around, it's cute. He still makes no attempt to roll from his belly. He laughs all the time now, especially when I'm changing him, to him it's the greatest game of peek a boo! I could strip and redress him all day long and he would be quite happy.
Some very kind soul from freecycle gave Saige a barbie jeep. It's in rough shape but it still goes (after Rob stole the battery out of his dirt bike for it, lol). It has two speeds and reverse, at first she was a bit scared, and still wont go fast, despite Rob's urging. She has a small four wheeler power wheels and cruised everywhere on it, Rob wanted her to have something FASTER. He even threatened to build her one himself (umm.... no). She spent yesterday towing all the rest of her outdoor toys (wagon, car, trikes) hooked together with bungee cords to her jeep. My husband is turning my daughter into a redneck. LOL
I've been making my own aio cloth diapers. These were pretty much the first thing I have ever sewn, and I'm proud of myself, lol. They are getting much nicer, hopefully soon I will make some really nice ones I can sell on ebay to get some money for more material. It's fun, in fact I like them better than all the others I have bought. So I thought I would just keep mine and sell the rest on ebay- they pulled my auctions, apparently you are no longer allowed to sell used cloth diapers on ebay- that's where I bought them all, new and used! The best part, I bought them after the change took affect, I guess it's only bad if you get caught. I had no idea until they sent me an email telling me I was in violation and they were going to suspend my account. Now I have stacks and stacks (not to mention tons of $) of diapers I am stuck with, including a few that were used maybe once or twice. I started with a bunch of different kinds with the notion I would figure out what I liked and resell the rest, not fair :(

Rylan rolled over!!!!!!!!!!
Rylan just rolled over! He's been going side to side from birth, when I put him on his tummy he pretty much stays in one spot. From his back he gets all the way on his side until his arm stops him. Saige was watching the Backyardigans and he was trying to see the TV, he got further than ever before, stuck on his belly with his arm under him and started crying. I figured I'd give him a few seconds to see if he could flip back but instead he pulled his arm out and went completely on his belly!
He's only 12 weeks, I can't believe he went over and from his back! Robby had just left for work- he misses all the good stuff :( Saige wanted to know what was so great about it after all "I have been able to rollover since 2 days ago" I think we REALLY need to work on the concept of time, lol. Now if he would only wake up, so I can spend the rest of the night trying to get him to do it again :)

I never thought I would say this...
I miss getting up in the middle of the night. Rylan has been pretty much sleeping through the night for the past few weeks now. He sleeps great too, from 7-8 until 6-7 in the morning. With the exception of a couple nights here and there it's been pretty steady. For awhile I was beginning to think he would never straighten out his days and nights. Now that he has I'm kinda sad. Don't get me wrong, I love my sleep too, but, it was kinda nice to get up in the quiet and have him all to myself. Just sit in the rocker and feed him while we stared at each other, me occasionally throwing things at Rob who lay sleeping to get him to stop snoring for a minute, LOL. Now I'm sure if I was still getting up every night I would feel different, lol, and perhaps I'm a bit crazy. I have one on one time with Saige while he naps, and she got three whole years to herself before he even came along. With him the 2 am feedings was the only time it was just him and me.

Everyday Things
I was hesitant to start a blog... it's bound to show just how boring we are, lol.
I took the kids to visit my grandma the other day, I try to go once a week, and so far we have been. At this point, I still have no desire to have another baby... at least one that comes from me, (hey it's only been 2 months) lol. In fact I have threatened Rob over and over that if I get pregnant he'll be getting a vasectomy at home in his sleep!
However gramma's comments about how I have a boy and a girl and SHOULD NOT have anymore, make me want to have another now out of spite. I just don't understand where anyone, not just my old stubborn grandmother gets off telling ME how many kids I should have. I just don't see how it affects anyone but me and Rob if I only have 2 or if I go on to have 12 more!

Rylan has been smiling so much more, and he's starting to laugh too! I took 71 pictures yesterday trying to get one of him smiling... did it happen? NO Darn camera has a delay, why can't they make a camera that any idiot can operate? I got lots of smiles but as soon as the pre-flash on the camera started the smiles went away before it actually took the picture. I was bound and determined to get one, so this continued for about a half an hour with no success before I gave up.

I think this is the "are you seriously going to flash that thing in my eyes all day long? look. oh well, he's still pretty cute even without the smiles...

I need sleep!
I should not get up in the mornings. Not only because I get cranky just like my toddler, but, I don't function well. Not at all. I have been *attempting* to wash them same blanket all day long. Not once but twice I ran the washer and never put the blanket in. Third times a charm I KNOW I put it in there this time (I went back and double checked, lol).
Darien Lake
We took Saige on her first trip to Darien Lake last weekend, she had a blast despite the rain. The weather wasn't great- but a good choice on days- NO lines!
She was a bit disappointed that she couldn't ride the big roller coasters, she kept asking if she had grown tall enough yet, all day long.
She did go on a few "adult" rides with no sign of fear, I'm not sure if thats a good or bad thing, lol.

My two favorite boys :) Rylan spent his first day with gramma, I still can't take a decent picture. One would think after years and having a red eye function I would get better at it- but no.

We told her to look scared, like the shark was going to eat her. her response? But mommy I'm brave and it's not real.
She drove her self dizzy in circles for three minutes straight.
I'm not sure who had more fun on this one.
She loves her daddy. This was her first ride, on the second run they got bumped hard enough to make her cry, I thought that would ruin the day. She got over it pretty fast, she was ready for the next ride she saw.
